Caught the "lead-in" with the Glenn Miller Story, the Benny Goodman, and eventually Gene. I've seen each of 'em a hundred times...and whenever I stumble accross them I stay!!!! Less productive at work today, though...

I saw the Benny Godman Story on TNT last night. A great movie starring Steve Allen as Benny, co-starring a beautiful Donna Reed and Gene Krupa plays himself throughout the movie. If your into swing or old movies it's a must see. I also saw the Gene Krupa Story starring Sal Mineo, that's a good on too.

Seen some show shamelessly rip off the drumbeat to this song the other day, and knew in an instanst what song it came from, lol

I often thought that "sing" could be slang. One of the definitions of sing is "to produce sounds when played". Ex. He really made the violin "sing". What do you think?

i know this is not rock 'n' roll but i can't think of as song that predates this one with a back-beat.
