It would be interesting to speculate whether Chabrier's interest in all things Spanish was where Ravel picked it up from as well.

Thank you very much maxfieldparrish2003 !!! It's wonderful story you mentioned about Poulenc !! I just heard this melody caused M.Ravel to create "Pavane pour une infante Defunte" so I ear copied... Thank you very much for your kindly comment !!!

Very nice! I know the orchestral and piano versions of this melody very well, but have never heard it like this before. I read someplace that hearing this tune made Poulenc decide to become a composer. |
