In fact, he does perform it better, but it's registered in a studio, and we all know that the best way of knowing what a singer can or cannot do remains listening to him LIVE on a stage in front of his fans, and Rufus voice is deceiving, but he can certainly perform better, I don't know.

"blugras32". No, we are not supposed to sing in front of people. We are computer experts, doctors, bus drivers and so on. We go and PAY an artist to entertain us. This performance is not up to standards, he is bored or whatever. He had been PAID and he did not delivered. As I said before, he has a good version of this song on YouTube. So remember, this is not a talent show. This recording was done in a concert where people PAID him to sing his best. He did not even come close.

You want to know what amazes ME ? It's the fact that 40'000 people like you will go and listen. But I must admit I'm surrounded by real musicians (you know, these so rare persons, and sometimes not as known as Rufus W, who are not only talented hard workers but have this special thing we use to call a gift), and I don't find anything interesting in this guy. Whatever, if you enjoy it, have fun !

Unbelieveable!!! Great song being done by a unique voice but there's those of you who criticize it?!?!?!? It never ceases to amaze me how some people can sit and criticize others when they can't do half as good themselves. I'll guarantee that none of you nay-sayers have played in front of as many people or sold as many CDs as this guy.

How damn can you even listen to this mess until the end ?! It's TOTALLY wrong and a very bad interpretation. Try the wonderful Jeff Buckley's version instead and your ears will thank you...

Check out the other version by him on channel Maxentius titled "Rufus Wainwright Hallelujah" That is a much better version.
