I've seen my house gecko fall and flip over. It's pretty amazing how they do it. I've read an article about this. It's some awesome stuff.

well geckos typically jump and glide from tree to tree. Can you imagine the difficulties involved with getting accurate high res motion capture of them whilst gliding, having to anticipate direction etc... so the answer is: put them in a wind tunnel where you can study them easily
