I had the good fortune to hear Colm Wilkinson and Rebecca Caine at the Pantages - twice. I also have a tape of highlights from the Phantom with them in the cast. I have yet to hear a performance of this musical that matches it.

I agree. Many Phantoms are afraid to embrace the erotic and sexual nature of the character. There's very few Phantoms that do it. Off the top of my head I can only think of Hugh Panaro. |
