was this considered a surprise or upset that she won because the reaction of the audience is big, or maybe it's just because they really wanted her to win.

I think Diane looks cool. She doesn't care what anyone thinks and still doesn't. She wears wha she likes. Nowadays if you look at girls like Kate Moss and Sienna Miller and it's obvious that they copy not only Twiggy but Diane when you watch what she's wearing in Annie Hall, not only the suits but the type of dresses she was wearing and mixture of clothes.

oh shut up Diane has her own style really. It's more random and a bunch of pieces thrown together. Katharine Hepburn did pioneer the women wearing pants in movies thing though. Other actresses like Marlene Dietrich also favored menswear. Anyway Keaton is awesome and just like Hepburn could do drama and comedy.

there were a lot of comparisons to Keaton and Kate Hepburn at the time and she obviously seemed to want to play to that so she arrived dressed as a Hepburn look-alikeIn her dreams!

How Could Annie Hall beat a film like Star Wars? A disastrous travesty. I lost all respect for the academy after this. (I was seven).
