Pete Rock is the Greatest producer of this era of hip hop. Premier is #2 imo....

Dr. Dre would be #6. Gotta love that west coast freshness!

I won't ever be able to understood why C.L. Smooth has never been regarded among even some of the most knowledgeable in the hip-hop community as one of the best MCs of all time. Listening to Mecca & The Soul Brother and the Main Ingredient (not to mention All Souled Out), it is undeniable. Pete Rock (deservedly) gets almost all of the acclaim, and too many look right past C.L.

if you like Mecca & the Soul Brother and the Main Ingredient, check out the LP "Center of Attention" by INI, produced by Pete Rock in 95 but released in 2003, most underrated album ever.
