I have seen classical musicians hold the bow like that too ; not just fiddlers. I did read somewhere that Paganini held the bow well up the stick...not at the frog. Try it yourself. It can be quite comfortable for some pieces.

She could look great in a sackcloth, But I must say that I like her Celtic Woman gown (not dress, gown) a fair bit more. She looks More otherworldly.

Outfit ?? I think that Mairead looks great in whatever she wears !!!! When a lady is that pretty, and can play that great, who cares about the outfit ??!!!!

Different teachers from different schools teach different holdings. Ive seen hungarian folklore fiddlers hold it like her.
