the difference is very simple a BMW 5 series (basic)has a 2.0 litre engine producing on 170 hp whereas the BMW M5 has a 5.0 litre v10 producing 507 hp. The M5 does 0-100 in 4.7s and has a top speed of 201 mph without a limiterSo in other words the BMW M5 would slaughter the 5 series!!!

When I first discovered YouTube on 2005, I saw a video commercial of the BMW M5 that started with misterious nice music and two horn knocks, in the video, it droved in a lonely city and then in a road. If anyone knows were can I find it, contact me.

Best car iv owned. It jsut dosnt stop pulling when your foots down. And when its in M-Mode the V10 sounds so good u melt into your seat. Just an amzing car - Clarkson from Top Gear owns one and he said its the best car he has ever driven - equal to the Ferrari F430! But more amazing because its a family car! It will be one HELL of a mission to replace this car. I know people who work for BMW - I was told the next M5 will either be a twin turbo V8 or V10 - 620bhp!
