mekhongjunkie: no, this will do no damage to the lock, and in almost all (if not all) cases no signs of forced entry are present. if your house is broken into using a bumpkey, you might as well have just left the door unlocked as far as police/insurance can tell.

most house keys are universal so u dont so much have to worry about getting the right size and if it has more bumps than the lock does it should work but fewer wont

cool video dude.question, can a bump key with, lets say 5bumps still open a lock with fewer pins and vice versa?

does this break the actual lock itself after it's "bumped"?? ...cause i came home from the movies the other night and my key just spun around in the lock... wondering if it could have been broken due to this technique?
