MadcapLindsay..Cork people are known as the rebels in Ireland due to the fact they fought(rebelled) against the british forces during the war of independance,to say "up the rebels" is merely showing support for the county that is cork,its mainly heard in GAA matches when Cork are playing.Lets just say you will never hear a Dubliner or Kerryman utter these words.hehe.
