I remember watching this when I was really little, came in somewhere in the middle (when the toys came alive) when it aired in the middle of the night on Starz; back then, it honestly scared the ever-living crap out of me, forget whatever plot it might have had xD I'm happy to say that now, it doesn't as much, and it's one of the best anime out there. Otomo rules!

The movie really IS confusing, it makes alot more sense in the original comic manga (I've heard the live action adaptation will be based from that).Anyway, consider the animated film to be a highly condensed version of the manga.

i saw the movie last night and it makes me think about the meaning of life and the idoits who made the kids take the medicene stuff to have the powers is soooo stupid because in the end they brought the death of alot of people and second destruction of tokyo but akira and tetsuo's power combined together sure enough made a new universe in a difrent dimention. XD
