A perfect world is impossible you can't stop crime even if he was to do it then after he dies then the world would go back to what it was. Theres also the fact that he is killing people. Even if its for justice it is murder. To kill soldiers to protect your country is murder and in todays society murder is wrong.

In the end, light has to kill himself cuz he is a criminal himself then....BUT! even if you kill criminals, people who aren't can 'reproduce'and they become criminals later maybe... and light doesn't live that long..

Also keep in mind that he will always be having to kill the police or people trying to find him, as that is unlikely to end in his lifetime and he clearly doesn't want to be caught. So his "enemies" will not have to have done something wrong to be killed as you said. In this sense, he will be causing pain and misery to families nearly every day, like a CRIMINAL might. What did Ryuk say in the first episode? He said in the end, "you will be the only evil one left." Eh? That's why this show rocks!

If you mean avatar the air bender, that doesn't classify as anime, as it is American animation and produced with American techniques. They deliberately tried to make it look like anime is all. And are you saying you don't like Cowboy Bebop? You should try it if you haven't seen it.

You said a world with no crime, yet you only mentioned violent crimes. Are we killing people who steal or use drugs? Light has already killed several people who were guilty of petty crimes. Light also will not be able to destroy poverty or social inequality. All of these contribute to crime. There are some crimes he might never know of, like domestic abuse. And we all know not all people who commit crimes are evil, and not all evil people commit crimes. That's why L says his morals are childish.
