Good observation, BorisCr! In music theory it's called a tritone (interval of 3 whole tones) and often referred as the Devil's chord.

no it wasn't anyway, comsidering the clarinettist in question had been playing for about 10 years whereas the violinists had been playing for about a year, it was a good choice. If I don't say so myself.
