I have to respond to the Aussie guy about being superior to "Yanks". Brett Garsed and Frank Gambale are amazing talents and very inspirational. HOWEVER, you still owe us an apology for Olivia Newton John, the Bee Gees, Men at Work, and even ACDC who are like musical cavemen!

Wow awesome - it would take me 100 years to relearn to pick like that lol

interesting way of picking...

Well certain rock licks sound better with the pick and using a pick produces a certian tone. He mostly uses his fingers for those faster legato licks and arpeggio things.

he is magical guitariste

He's one of only about 10 guys I can think of that is recognizable within just a few notes. Think BB King, Clapton, Van Halen, George Harrison. Those guys can play(could in George's case) just 1 or 2 notes and bam! you know who it is. I can't think of more than 2 other fusion players (other than Garsed) that have anything close to what those guys have as far as recognizability. His career, in my opinion, is less than it should be only because he didn't luck out and be involved with any #1 hits

I don't really get it, if he wants to do that why not ditch the pick and use his first finger with rest strokes? I personally don't see the point other then wanting to be unique. Some people will find that offensive since he's a really good player and all, but I personally don't see the point.

anyone who doubts this guy is an absolute fuckwit, fullstop. Yes he is an aussie and we are far superior to any yank.

This guy is awesome. I was lucky to have him as my "substitute teacher" at GIT 1995.Keep Fusion-ing Brett. |
