This song is for anyone who has been with someone who is just not right for you. You first get together with them (trying to mix it up), but you're both unhappy (Crying from blackened souls), put on a facade (smiling with achors on my shoulders) and you want out (dying to let them go). Lyrics and instrumentals are amazing, but equally amazing is the progressive intensity of the singing, which conveys the emotion of the moment, until the final outburst and breakup. I love this band.

Just to comment: The song DOES make sense, it's just not obvious like most lyrics. Incubus has never been obvious for their music - you have to dig for the meaning, rather than have it sung to you blatantly. FEEL the music, and it will come. I promise. Incubus = Life. Love.
