It was heard in the movie Elizabeth. Probably used in other films that I'm not aware of, too. :)

My marching band is playing the 1st 5 movements from Elgar's Egnima Variations and I have to say this is my favorite peice of the 5. It is very pretty and I love not only playing it but marching it!!

Wow, there is a lot of pretentious and antagnistic crap being posted here. Is this a beautiful, uplifting piece of music? Yes: Emphatically, Yes. Cut the jingoism folks...and enjoy

Not strictly true about pre-conquest England. She was the richest kingdom in Europe at the time. The Saxon English build their greatest buildings out of timber in the usual Scandinavian manner. The Normans were a bunch of squatters who moved in while the English army was otherwise engaged at Stamford Bridge. So insecure were they that they had to build huge forts to hide away in. They were chancers who just got lucky. England was too great a prize to give up.

'superficial' has just proved my point: bad language is fine in verbal exchange but not so good in written exchanges. And I don't care if you are black or purple with yellow spots - I have lived and worked in East Africa where people like you would not be tolerated for an instance - just another American idiot.
