I think you're absolutly right...The song is about abuse and about smart women who get abused en what can happen to these women from this...About how people need to help these women when they see it happening...Because nobody ever does...For some people this song actually means something...

well yh obviously! however, true or not there is still a story to the song/video and some people are interested in understanding what that story is. Incidentally what makes you so sure the song wasn't based on a real story? I'm not saying it is or isn't I'm just pointing out its always a possibility... Generally when people write a song like this its because something they have seen or heard about has triggered an emotional reaction and they felt the need to write a song about it
