Don't even compare Pete Doherty to Kurt Cobain. Kurt was an amazing songwriter, up there with the Beatles and Neil Young, that people at the time could relate to, where Pete is just famous for being Kate Moss's junkie bf who left the Libertines. He had his chance and he blew it. Amy Winhouse is the same. The media love it. But its the tortured artist bullshit they love, not their music. Nobody outside London can relate to Doherty's music because its all about the London scene. Boring, next.
