Nonetheless, you're correct in citing the fundamental idiocy of the Iraq Project, and Hitchen's uncharacteristic inanity in supporting NeoCon folly. Hitchens and his NeoCon fellow travelers began ideological life as Marxists, and thus believe that peoples are infinitely malleable politically. Hence the inane attempt to "democratize" rabid Muslims.

Robespierre always offers great inspiration. As an animal lover, I'd request we remove the cats. Enough innocents have died from Muslim barbarity. To make the procedure a true marriage, a male Jihadi should be paired with true pussy from the burgeoning crop of female Muslim terrorists; Ex:the Pakistani bio-terrorist bitch recently captured. The captives would be "married" by having their hands placed on a Koran, stripped, bound together at the hips for fleeting nuptials and dumped in the Tigris.

Electro-stimulation of specific brain areas a la Neurologist Wilder Penfield's work's a good beginning. Maybe interrogators can create the delusion that's Allah's present and persuade Muslims to "confess".

Hitchens is not a Constitutionalist by any measure. He dabbles in historical revisionism in regards to Jefferson. His appeal is to the unread. His books are not popular to the public at large. Like so many irreligious/Marxian "writers" his books make it onto the best sellers' list as they're pre-sold to the tax-funded public libraries where they remain on the shelves for a yr. or 2 untouched. After such time they're sold for $.50 each by the ladies' auxiliary.

There's no real evidence that torture works though. If the only way to prevent torture is to say exactly what your captors want to hear, you will blindly repeat what they want. That doesn't make it effective, it makes it wholy ineffective. So you create more enemies, decrease world standing and get no usefull info out of it. It is completely counter-productive and a total waste of time to torture.

Water-boarding sounds effective, albeit crude. I suggest the Powers That Be use captured Jihadis for R&D into more sophisticated and reliable means of physically-assisted interrogation. Intra-cranial electro-stimulation or interrogation facilitated with advanced pharmaceuticals, for example. |
