I'm not saying there's no benefit to this training. Look at this guy, he looks great for his age -- spritely. That's ideal. What I'm saying is that if people had 3 or 4 months to prepare for a fight -- they don't chose Xing Yi; even if eye gouging and biting were legal. The latter is usually the reason kung fu guys say is the reason why kung fu is never represented in UFC like tournaments.Chinese Fast Wrestling, Chin Na, and Western Boxing would be a good combo (there's others too).

Yes we all fear a slow beating -- Yeah, I'd much rather be mauled by a bear in its prime rather than be gummed by a toothless bear in his last few seasons.

Jin and speed are not what makes hsing-i so profound. I imagine only a grandmaster really knows what does but I have never heard either of the three masters I know nor any of their students even touch on your opinion.

This guy has great internal strength . Good xing yi ! I don't agree that power goes down with age . Have you ever been demonstrated on by a grandmaster .

hey joel I can't say that I know this person, but I have seen a lot of older internal arts people, and as a whole, they are extremely vital and healthy. Long term practice of internal martial arts or chi gung may be the best single thing you can do to maintain functional strength, flexibility, and vitality into old age.

he's great

The guy in the video is only twenty-five years old. Hsing-i has made him LOOK eighty years old. He should have taken up Pilates. And bought a gun. |
