It's an Edge III, that's the proper angle. The part under it is parallel to the body of the guitar, but you can't really see it from that angle.

yeah, when you start using bigger guage strings you have to add springs too, 11s and up you need 4. when i get a guitarwith a floyd, ima put some GHS Zakk Wylde customs where the Low E is .60 guage on it. i think ima have to put a full set of 5 springs on it hahahaha

drop d, in normal speaking, is tuning to d standard, and then dropping the low E down so that you can basically do a power chord with 1 finger.easy enough to understand for everyone?

thanks man, i wasnt sure how to put the strings into a floyd rose, but any tips on how to keep the guitar in tune?i have an Ibanez RG5EX1

As for Drop D, I just tune mine like normal and the bridge stays in the same place. If you want lower tunings though you have to start messing with the springs again.

You need to adjust the springs in the back. I find the best way to do it is detune all your strings so they are loose and then increase/reduce (I forget which) the tension on the springs so the bridge is sitting about halfway in the guitar, then retune your strings and the tension will pull the bridge level again. You may have to mess with the tension of the springs a little bit more after words. This is how I sorted my guitar out after I messed up the first string change.
