La voz de Simon se oye una "vocecilla" perdida al lado del tremendo sonido de la orquesta y del maestro. No sé, pero no me acaba de cuadrar estos duos, es como tratar de unir dos mundos totalmente separados por la técnica!! El gesto, sin embargo, es de humildad, para q los famosillos exaltados por la maquinaria comercial no se sigan creyendo lo máximo, y se sepan que por encima de ellos están muchos más, aunque desconocidos para el grueso del popular, mejores interpretes!

OK, I hear how he is reaching a bit, but he pulls it off. Especially at the end he is sounding strained. Still better than I could do. Great concert series overall. I still love the duet in Italian. Bellisimo.

I don't think it's just in comparison to Pavorotti ... Simon is singing in a higher pitch than he normally does for this song. Even the opening, before Pavorotti comes in, simply sounds "off". Simon has great range, but he doesn't sound right singing this high for very long.

Simon is a great singer in his own rite, but against the amazing tenor of Pavarotti, he is so much higher--just doesn't mesh. I'm pretty sure Pav chose which song he was most comfortable singing-not Simon. I must say, this is one of my favorite DD songs tho--I am a HUGE DD fan.
