I heard from the guy who is training these Tigons that they are working on breeding T-Tigon which looks more like Tiger with more obvious lines.

They're almost there. They've gotten male lions to breed with female tigons in some zoo in india and they're called...wait for it..wait for it....li-tigons.

I find that hard to believe because the growth inhibitor gene is present in both the mating parties, the offspring of which is a tigon whereas it is conspicuously absent in the parents of ligers.

according to the text books may be, but right now they are about 2 years old and they weight around 750lbs and still growing.

Actually you're wrong. The natural weight of a Tigon is 400lbs. It's Liger's who are known to weight 1000lbs.
