They couldn't afford samplers. You've got looped tapes of a printing press, tuned milk bottles and a Roland Juno 106 in there, if I remember right.

its a reference to the band einsturzende neubauten which is german for collapsing new buildings. similar band but less synthy. and slighly more interesting from my perpective.

P.S: The song is about the people in Berlin. I think the band stayed there during the recording sessions of the album.
