Actually when I started to play on my acoustic guitar I started with this song. Just keep on practicing much and you will learn the song step by step. Nothing is Impossible! :)

helisell you dont make it clear enough its to confusing it would help if you said were to put your fingers then what string to play rather than just play each section for us and we try work it out

You should NOT play the F# on the low E string with your thumb. The thumb should NOT reach over the fretboard anyway. If you do not believe me, then look at how Mason Williams is playing: watch?v=mguzKze1sYo. And that`s my advice for beginners: do not start with this song right away. Try some easy Fernando Carulli or Matteo Carcassi etudes that will keep you motivated. You wil progress much faster. Otherwise you might lose your motivation and end up giving up guitar.

This is by far the best tutorial I've found on youtube. There are a lot of good teachers posting quality stuff, but this just takes the cake. Thank you!

is this played in standard tuning (E) because i have tried it down a step, and on standard and so it might just be me but i cant get it too sound right?
