I agree Velma is the better character though it was Renee Zellwegger not Nicole Kidman as Roxie but she did a fantasic job

I think Velma is a better character than Roxie anyway. Every time I've seen Chicago on the stage, Velma has been better than Roxie. I still think Kidman did really well in the film and is still pretty stunning. Besides, in the 1920's flappers were meant to have smaller boobs, most women even flattened them.

Like sizzlingthyme said, not many modern musicals do the whole lipsync thing. There was a rumour that David Bowie actually sang from Johnny Depp in Sweeney Todd, but thats not true (Or so its officially said :P )

That's pretty much all I can think about when I watch Renee in this movie. She has a man chest.Catherine pretty much outshines her in every way in this film.

Normally in musicals they have an actress who looks very pretty and then a singer that has an amazing voice and the actress lip sincs. Take Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady. All the songs there were sung by Julie Andrews. In Chicago however, they are singing. They were both origionally theatre actresses.
