The Romanians do not put any blame on Hungarians or on the Gypsies.Maybe in the last months, because of the Italian media is calling us gypsies, some Romanians started to be upset on Gypsies, but we, the Romanians, are the most tolerant people of Europe.Think about how many crimes the Western Europeans did against other races on world, and than compare their actions with ours.DNA studies performed by the best Hungarian scientists proved the the Hungarians are a mix of Romanians, Slavs, Germans.

The movie catch very well the atmosphere of the nineteens in Bucharest. Today it seem outdated.

it is an amazing country, im going to be bias of course but it is beautiful and i agree with the diversity. We are a people that like to sit back and let others do things for us yet if they do it wrong, we blame them completely. Gypsies have indeed ruined our european image. italians call us gypsyes, why? cuz its the gypsyes who do the damage in Rome, no other reason. its not that we blame them perse, but what they do IS distructive.

'You cant clash...two very diff. cultures into one'. That's sad. I just hope you're wrong. For me, one of the things that makes Romania one of the most interesting countries in Europe is it's diversity of culture and peoples: Romanian, Szeckely, Sasi, Tartar, Turkish, Lipovani, Rroma. If some 'Romanians' could stop blaming Gypsies and Hungarians for every problem in their society they might wake up to the fact that this diversity contributes to making Romania the amazing country that it is.

i agree with that mate. its just, it 'becomes' gypsy once they sing it. they bring in their vocal alterations, bring in that very indian style to the song which in a way, changes the meaning of romanian folk....they are very talented musicians yes thats true, some manele are gorgeous songs..and no i dont think its possible. you cant clash two histories and two very diff. cultures into one. one of indian descent one of daco-roman. one with indian features and language one with latin. u cant mate!
