Why was it so beautiful back then!

Same here! Is it because the lyrics all seem to have some meaning and make sense? ^__^ To me that is what the other genres lack. I'm not saying that they all suck, just that those genres you mentioned just rock a bit harder than the rest. ~t

The Platters were the Rolls Royce of singing groups. Always a class act! =)

Yes, it is as many things today have lost some delicate factors to them. It is difficult to explain this by words.

There is something wholesome about this generation of music and I love it too. What a shame that we have mostly untalented singers who need blasted music to drown out their inabiity to be "musical". This relaxes me and takes me back to a more safe, sane and selfless period in our country. Bless them!

Yeah there is. Music these days is all quick and flashy, the good music is the kind that is written from the heart not from the hope of making lots of money. I dont know what kind of music you listen to but to give you some ideas of what I consider music that you could call art would be anything from Sade, Seal, Anne Lennox, Anita Baker, Santana, Ray Charles just to name a few. if you have never heard any of there music its all on you tube. if any of those are new to you check them out if u want

Thanks for this. And about the music then it is true, there is as something is missing from much of the music today.

You Speak perfect english you have nothing to worry about.I know exactly what you mean music these days is like fast food. it looks good and it tastes good but there is no nutritional value. Most music isn't even written by the artist who sings it. Its written by other song writers and sold to the highest paying singer.
